Student Librarian Intern

Hours: Flexible hours available Monday through Saturday

Salary: Unpaid Internship.

The internship will provide exposure to public service, emerging technology, reference, community outreach programs, and collection development.  This practical training in public librarianship complements the academic education received from library school.

Qualifications:

No prior library experience required.

Self-motivated, flexible, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to quickly learn new technologies with little or no instruction and teach the technologies to others.

Enrolled in an ALA-accredited master of library science program.

Strong analytical and problem solving skill.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail and time management.

Computer (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Internet research skills.
