American Women’s Fashions, 1760-1925

Join us for a presentation tracing the history of American women’s fashion through some highlights from the DAR Museum’s collection.
The DAR Museum has been collecting items since 1890. Today, the costume collection includes about 5000 objects, from dresses to accessories, and includes men’s and children’s garments. This presentation provides a sample of only the women’s outfits in the collection.
Presenter Bio:
Pam Campbell
Pam is a retired Dell Technologies Advisory Consultant where she specialized in Project Management and Process Engineering. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics and an MBA in Technology Management. Today she is Honorary Regent of the Haddonfield Chapter, New Jersey Chair for DAR Museum Outreach, and a Correspondent Docent for the DAR Museum. Pam developed her love of history by listening to her Great Aunt Monema Kenyon, who was a member of the Princeton Chapter of the DAR.
Pam continued her love of history by attending the sixth oldest continually operating university in the nation, Moravian University. And the oldest continually operating university to begin by admitting women. Pam met her library arts class requirement by taking history classes include Prehistoric England to 1603. Today her retirement job is actively developing new programs for the DAR Museum’s Correspondent Docent program and local programs for the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area.
