Exhibition Title: Exploring the World
The photographs captured encompass places that I have visited both near and far. Discovering hidden treasures and bringing them home through
photography is an activity that I have cherished since I was a little girl. This series represents the United States, Greece, and the Caribbean Islands. I have chosen to edit in a style called “Painterly.” These are actual photographs that I have taken and through pain staked edits, create a final product that looks like a painting. Pushing the limits and learning new skills is high on my list for I am a believer that one must never stop growing

A little bit about myself…
Hi, my name is Ruth Nyce-Carroll. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t have a camera in my
hand.
Stopping time, freezing it long enough to tell a beautiful story without words, is a gift I love to
share. Nature always has a way of bringing peace to the soul. Whether its rolling waves
crashing against a sandy shore or the view from a mountain peak, there is something
remarkable and beautiful about being immersed in nature.
Imagine this… all the beauty and mystery of the great outdoors contained in your own personal
portal, all without ever leaving your home. This is where I come in. If there is a storm coming
you can be sure I will be on a jetty, sitting on the rocks, capturing the crashing waves. If finding
the best place to photograph a waterfall means climbing the mountain that it’s flowing from, you
bet your bottom dollar that it will be done.
Venturing into the world and capturing God’s beauty is a joy I can’t explain. My work has won
awards and has been published but, bringing the treasures that I find to life for all to see puts a
smile on my face and makes my heart sing more than any award won. Not everyone can go
where I have gone, so my goal is to bring the beauty of nature to them!
I live with my husband, Steve Carroll.I am the mother of two daughters, and a step-mom to a
wonderful son and daughter. We share our home with three dogs and 4 cats. I love to volunteer
and give back to the community, especially at my church.
