Featured Artist Exhibition: “Self Synopsis” Ashley Schultz
July 1 @ 10:00 am – August 31 @ 5:00 pm
The Featured Artist in our Community Gallery July & August is Ashley Schultz with her exhibition titled: Self Synopsis
Much of my work touches on themes of humanity and mental health in relation to myself through colorful imagery and strong shapes. I feel most drawn to these themes and feel they are important to discuss as they are often shared experiences that many people can relate to. I also feel it’s a growing importance as the human experience of creative expression is growing ever more relevant with the rise of Generative AI which is also a theme some of my work touches on. With these works I wanted to emphasize the importance of human creativity and connection through hand made works that aren’t perfect but still resonate with the viewer. Alongside the deeper themes, I also use my work as a playground to find interesting ways of combining two different mediums, in this case stained glass and lino cut prints.
Artist Bio
My name is Ashley Schultz and I am a recent graduate of Stockton University’s Visual Arts program. While I have a degree in Illustration I primarily work with lino cut prints alongside stained glass and work to incorporate them together to create a cohesive installation.
I am looking to break into the curatorial world of art both as an exhibiting artist as well as a curator. I have previously had my work displayed at the Stockton University Art Gallery for quite a few of their recent exhibitions as well as the “All the Small Things” exhibition hosted by the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences during March and April of 2026. This show marks my first solo showing of my work!
