Getting a Library Card

Free cards are available to all residents of Waterford Township. You can get a card immediately at the library with identification and proof of residence, or you can sign up online and your application will be processed within three business days. You will receive a call when your card is ready. 

Cards are renewed every three years. 

Non-resident Cards

If you do not reside in Waterford Township you may purchase a membership.  The cost is $45 for the year.  This fee covers all residents that reside at the household, except paid senior cards. 

If you are 60 years old or above, a nonresident individual membership may be purchased for $20.  

Cards are renewed annually.

Minor Children

Parents or guardians must sign applications for children below 18; if the child is not present, the parent or guardian must provide one of the following:

  • A current identification/document in the child’s name issued by a government agency, school, or social services provider.

Lost Library Card Replacement

Lost cards should be reported as soon as possible, as cardholders will be held responsible for any materials checked out on their card. There is a small fee to replace a lost card please contact the library for more information.

If you are submitting this application as a non-dedicated library tax payer (anyone living outside of Waterford Township) you are agreeing to pay a registration fee. The annual fee for non-resident library membership is $45 ($20 for seniors). This fee covers all residents that reside at the household. This fee must be paid in cash when the library card is picked up. *senior cards cover the individual senior only
Your email address may be used to notify you of due dates, hold and overdue notifications, replacement bills and other information regarding your account. Please let us know of changes to your email address or if you no longer want to receive account notifications. Your email address will also be used to receive information about the library’s programs/events.
By submitting this application, you are agreeing to be responsible for the following: all materials borrowed with your card, paying all fines and fees associated with your card, reporting the loss, theft, or abuse of your card immediately (this includes your responsibility for paying all fines and fees and any items checked out on your card prior to being reported lost or stolen), and to report any changes in your account information. You are also stating that this is your only library card from the Waterford Township Public Library. Providing false information on this application is a felony and is punishable by New Jersey State Law - N.J.S.A. 2C:21-4a.
As a parent or legal guardian of this borrower under the age of eighteen, I agree to be responsible for this borrower's selection and use of library materials, to pay all fines and fees associated with this card, to report the loss, theft, or abuse of this card immediately, and to report any changes in this account's information. I understand that I am responsible for all fines and any items checked out on this card prior to being reported as lost or stolen. Applicants under the age of eighteen will be required to complete a new library card application upon turning eighteen. Providing false information in this application is a felony and is punishable by New Jersey State Law - N.J.S.A. 2C:21-4a.
