Fora & Fauna: Feature Artist Exhibition Reception
August 5 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Flora & Fauna is a collection of paintings that explores self-discovery through the intertwined threads of family and nature. Inspired by old family photographs, the artist traces her lineage—one shaped by generations of creatives—to uncover pieces of her identity. Each portrait or scene serves as both reflection and inquiry, revealing inherited expressions, quiet moments, and familiar landscapes. Nature, ever-present in the lives of her ancestors, acts as both metaphor and memory.
Through flora and fauna, the artist reconnects with her roots, seeing her ancestors not as distant figures, but as living parts of the natural world—embodied in gesture, memory, and form—woven into a larger search for belonging and understanding.
OPENING RECEPTION: AUGUST 5th 6pm – 7:30pm | Meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments
Stephanie Stefanik is multi-media artist. She discovered her love for creating visual art and embraced her artist identity in her mid-thirties. What began as a personal exploration has since transformed into a profound creative journey. Drawing from her identity as a queer woman, Steph channels both personal experiences and a deep passion for environmental work into her art. Her work often explores themes of self-discovery, community, and connection to the natural world. A strong advocate for sustainability, Steph finds new ways to improve her art practice with the environment in mind. Through art, she aims to amplify the voices of both marginalized communities and the environment, creating a space where the personal and ecological intertwine.
When Steph isn’t creating, you can find her snuggled with her family in their cozy farmhouse by the sea, nurturing a lush garden, fostering piggies, teaching kids about the environment, or exploring the outdoors with her family. Through her work and life, she fosters a deep love for both nature and community.
