Switch Plate Painting Workshop with Claudia Tung

Join us at the library for another creative workshops!
This seminar is a guide on how to paint white switch plate and socket covers to jazz up your walls.
Medium used will be Alcohol Ink, Markers,
Provided with seminar are inks, brushes,Q-tips, sealant, rubbing alcohol, single switch plates and socket covers that are white plastic. Participants get one of each.
***Participants are welcome to bring in their own switch plate/socket instead. Plastic or metal***
Artist Instructor Bio:
Claudia Tung
Contemporary mixed media artist with a passion for nature. Her art is expressed through a distinct flow of brush style and illuminated color. “I enjoy painting pictures that are inspired by the natural patterns of flowers, insects,
and landscapes. “This brings me joy!” When working with her clients, she captures their ideas of beauty within her art. Her interest in art started in elementary school. From there, exploration of many mediums brought interest to study art professionally. She attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration.
Claudia’s work has been shown in New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.
Currently, the medium of choice is mixed media with ink markers, paint and paper. “There is fluidness when the inks touch a smooth surface. A magical experience happens when the inks intertwine with my ideas.” In addition, colored pencil, acrylic, tempera paints and torn paper are added.
The idea of looking at color in objects, shapes, patterns, and texture is where the inspiration comes from. Art created by children is another; watching children draw and paint is a delight because it is pure art at its best.
Claudia also sells inks on paper made into jewelry, which is called “Wearable Art”, and offers commissions such as paintings, switch plate and socket covers, wooden hamsas and crosses and paintings on ceramic tiles.
