Planning You Home Orchard – With Philly Orchard Project

Learn how to set yourself up for success in growing fruit in your backyard! In this workshop, we will discuss plant selection (highlighting climate adaptive plants), site considerations, layout, and how to properly plant your fruit trees. This workshop is suitable for beginning/prospective orchardists, as well as those with more experience!
Bio: Corrie Spellman-Lopez is the Education Director at the Philadelphia Orchard Project, a non-profit that plants and supports community orchards. She holds a BA in Peace and Social Justice from Berea College and a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture from the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at UC Santa Cruz. Corrie previously managed educational garden spaces in Philadelphia and diversified organic production farms on the West Coast.
